Illustrating for Early Learners: A Conversation with Homeschool Ways

I recently sat down with Homeschool Ways to talk about all things An Alliterative Alphabet. It was such a joy to discuss how we can use rhythm and playful language to help kids truly love words from an early age.

We chatted about:

✅ Why unique word pairings are the secret to holding a child’s attention.

✅ Fun, practical ways to use the book in a homeschool or classroom setting.

✅ Stories from the drawing board—and how kids influenced the final art!

I also want to give a special mention to my co-creator, Ley Wire. Though she preferred to stay off-camera, her heart and her experience raising and homeschooling eight children are the foundation of this book.

Whether you're a parent trying to make reading more fun or just a fan of children's illustration, I think you'll enjoy this chat!
